Metal Loop was first exhibited at the RISD FAV Junior show, with a follow up showing at The Lab in San Francisco, CA.

Metal Loop (2010) is a short video loop, taken from footage of a mosh pit at a Japanese “Visual Kei” concert – something like a cross between a Norwegian black metal show and a cosplay convention. At metal shows like this, “the pit” can feel like a living, seething organism, operating as one big, sweaty unit. In this clip, the individual banger’s ballet turns into a group choreography, and finally settles into a holistic abstraction of ROCK.
