The World Series of ‘Tubing
Posted March 11th, 2010 in Pretty Lights that Blink, Software.I interned for Jeff Crouse, a fellow fellow of some esteem, at Eyebeam in New York a while back. The World Series of ‘Tubing was a project that I stepped up to help on — it’s sort of like Pokemon but in augmented reality and with Youtube. ?????????
PROJECT: WORLDSERIESOFTUBING.COM

The World Series of ‘Tubing (WSOT) was and is the brainchild of Jeff and his pal Aaron Meyers. Both are amazing guys, and both are associated with Eyebeam, an arts and technology think-tank in Chelsea, NYC. I was very fortunate to get in the door here and get access to the personnel and facilities, if only for a short time.
I mostly handled design and user interface stuff, such as how people interact with the video-adding system (a greasemonkey script for Firefox).
The WSOT was debuted at Eyebeam Mixer:Version in 2009 and had a most excellent reprise at Performa 2009, which was also at Eyebeam. We were on the bill with fucking JODI, how sick is that?
